The One Academy Student Wins Isuzu D-Max Pick-up in Decal Design Contest

Tan Yi Xuan drove home a brand new Isuzu D-Max 2.5L pick-up truck worth RM115,000 in a special Isuzu D-Max Decal Design Contest jointly organized by Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, The One Academy and Sime Kansai Paints Sdn Bhd.

As the Grand Prize winner for the Most Creative Design, Tan won an Isuzu pickup truck with her winning design that featured vibrant intertwined flowing splashes of black, yellow and red. The graphic elements were meant to express the freedom, power and fun of the D-Max in motion on rugged terrain.

Lee Zun Tat took home RM10,000 cash when his tattoo culture-inspired ‘Good to be Bad’ design was adjudged the Most Rebellious Design. The main elements of a skull and octopus in a background of strong bold colours were designed to turn heads. It is also a reminder of how the tattoo, often associated with individuals with questionable reputations in the past, has now become an accepted mainstream art form.

The RM10,000 cash prize for the Most Futuristic Design went to Mok Wen Qi with his ‘Bird of Freedom’ concept that featured a unique colour combination of blue, turquoise and purple embellished with light streaks. The design was intended to make the vehicle look like a bird that has just gained freedom and ready to fly high.

All three One Academy students received their prizes during the official launch of the new refreshed Isuzu D-Max range. The three Isuzu D-Max with the winning designs were displayed at the launch venue as well.

The Isuzu D-Max Decal Design contest was held from May 16 to August 18, 2016 and was opened to all Malaysian citizens studying at The One Academy.
